Ed was a great guy. Gentle, fair, loving and not deserving of the hardships he suffered the last few years. I met him through ping pong and had time to talk in between matches. He loved the game and traveled internationally to see the tournaments. He tried his best while playing even though his health was failing until his body gave out even if his spirit didn't. I met his brother who was a better player than both of us but Ed was happy to have a relationship with him. He was always soft spoken and when he complained it wasn't out of anger or hate it was because he didn't understand the why and that's what bothered him. The last I saw of him was at my birthday party which I'm happy to say he enjoyed himself. The last I spoke to him was when he entered the hospital but I never followed up as I caught Covid a little over a month later and am just now rebuilding my social life and found out about his passing. My condolences to the family, I'm so sorry I couldn't be there for the services. If heaven has a ping pong table he will be happy.
