Edwin Louis Benedetto, affectionately known as “Eddie”, 65 of Orlando died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at home with his family by his side. Eddie was born April 20, 1947 in Manhattan, NY to Rosaria and Edwin Bendedetto. He moved to the Orlando area in 1969 from New York and married the love of his life, Coreen Smith on June 8, 1985. Eddie entertained children during the holidays by playing Santa all throughout the Central Florida area. He enjoyed doing this with his wife, Mrs. Claus. Together they worked with different charities and hospice groups throughout Christmastime bringing smiles and gifts to children. Eddie’s most precious time was being Santa for his children and grandchildren. He was voted the number one fan for his wife’s softball teams. She is his number one fan. Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Coreen; two sons, Robert Alan and his wife, Astin and Donuel Eugene and his wife, Yvette; daughter, Catherine Soledad; four grandchildren; father, Edwin; brother, Bob and his wife, Dimiti; sisters, JoAnne Donnely and Delores Bendedetto and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. A life celebration will be held 11AM, Saturday, May 12, 2012 at St. John Episcopal Church, 1709 John Young Parkway, Kissimmee, FL.
