Edythe (Edie) Laurent

Edythe Laurent, age 102, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016. She was born in Highland Park, Mi., to the parents of Robert and Edith Jones. While working for Sears Roebuck & Company in Detroit, she met and married John G. Laurent on November 27, 1937. Following several years living in Michigan, the family moved to Findlay, OH. Upon her husbands’s transfer, they relocated to Waterville, OH., where she lived until her move to The Villages, Fl., in 2009, residing there with her 2 daughters.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters and St. Luke’s Hospital auxiliary, Maumee, OH where she volunteered. Edie loved to travel and was an avid reader. She played golf until her late eighties.

Her memory will be cherished by her son John (Jack) Laurent (Jean Anne), her daughter Jane (Laurent) Collins, her daughter Lois Laurent, her sister Dorothy Truswell, grandson Rob (Alicia) Laurent, great grandchildren Maggie and P.J. Laurent, 3 nieces and 3 nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother.
