Obituary
Mrs. Elaine Belva Champion Nesselroade left quietly for her final home on Monday morning, September 18, 2017. Elaine was the daughter of Clair Elwood Champion and Dorothy Marie Leeds Champion of Port Republic, NJ. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Kenneth Nesselroade; two sons, Paul (Cheryl) and Daniel (Marcy); two sisters, Ruth Ann Champion (Jack) Hirons of Muncie, IN and Lois Marie Champion (Carl) Waggoner of Lancaster, OH; one brother, Paul Robert (Melanie) Champion of Port Republic, NJ and six grandchildren, Emma, Andrew, Ellie, Sarah, Maggie and Lisa. Elaine, called to work with children, prepared herself to teach with degrees from Asbury University (BA) and Eastern Michigan University (MA). She loved and taught children over the years. Composed of a rare sweetness, Elaine served well alongside her husband in pastoral ministry for 45 years. A member of The Village Church at Shell Point Retirement Community, Elaine served wherever asked including eight wonderful years as an assistant chaplain. She is sorely missed, greatly loved and ecstatic with joy in her new “forever” heavenly home. The Memorial Service for Elaine will be held October 14th, 2017 at 10:15 AM at the Village Church at Shell Point, Fort Myers, FL. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be directed to Asbury University and noted,”Nesselroade Memorial Scholarship Fund”, 1 Macklem Drive, Wilmore, KY 40390

Elaine was 1 of my 3 preschool teachers and a Sunday school teacher at Smeltzer Road Alliance Church here in Marion, Ohio.
Elaine will be missed but I know that I will see her again one day.
