Obituary
Elaine Margaret MacGowan, 78, originally from Birmingham, England, peacefully passed away in her sleep at Cornerstone Hospice Care after a courageous year-long battle with AML Leukemia. A devout Christian, Elaine found comfort in her faith and looked forward to her Lord’s return.
Elaine was a deeply devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always putting her family first. She had a special love for reading, particularly the works of British author Miss Read, and took great joy in seasonal decorating. Elaine’s kindness touched everyone who knew her, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Trevor D. MacGowan; her daughter, Maria Rinehart, 56, of Ashville, OH; her sons, Julian MacGowan, 54, of Leesburg, FL, and Alistair MacGowan, 46, of Orlando, FL; and her grandchildren: Trevor J. MacGowan, 26, of Leesburg, FL; Katie Rinehart, 23, of Ashville, OH; Jacob Rinehart, 17, of Ashville, OH; and her great grandson Elliott MacGowan, 7, of Leesburg, FL.
She was preceded in death in England by her mother, Marion Ivy Hill, who passed away at the age of 93, and her father, William T. Hill, who passed away at the age of 78.
Elaine will be remembered for her incredible kindness, her love for her family, and her steadfast faith. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Celebration of Life service will be held 6:00 pm, Friday August 16 at Graceway Church, 10200 Morningside Drive, Leesburg FL 34788.
For all the love you gave.
For all the care and understanding you shared,
For the inspiration and understanding you brought,
For many happy times and chats together,
I will always be grateful.
I will see you soon, when Jesus comes again.
I don't know how to live without you, and I know it's going to be very hard! You my Friend were one of a kind! Your Sweet English Voice, precious laughter, you gave to anyone you seen in need. You enjoyed your dirty dish water looking tea, as per your Father's words you shared with me over tea! However, your Faith was lived out by every loving act big or small, and your unconditional love for your family and mine! Thanks for 38 years of memories, love, and most of all praying with and for our families! I'm holding you to your last words " I shall be waiting by the Pearly Gates waiting for you!" See you soon my Dear Sweet Friend!
Love Always and Forever
