Obituary

On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, the world lost a beloved mother, sister, partner, grandmother, aunt and the most genuine and devoted spirit – Elaine Marie Stevenson. Elaine was 74 and passed away at her home in Fort Myers, Florida. Elaine was born December 4, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to Gerard and Doris Riesenbeck. She married Delmar Ray Stevenson on Christmas Eve, 1965. She is survived by her children Daniel and Susan, and her grandchildren Nina and Adrian.

She had a razor sharp wit and sense of humor that could bring a smile to the grumpiest of faces. Despite her many years of wisdom, she was always full of youth and vigor. It was her wish to not hold a service, so we ask instead that you remember and celebrate her life in a way that is meaningful to the way that she touched yours. I expect that there will be crossword puzzles, dachshunds getting extra love, turbo shots, and enough laughter to go on for ages.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Dachshund Rescue of South Florida.

My Big Sis Lainie❤️ One that always watched over me as a little girl, took care of me through my teen years..Words can never express the love and thankfulness that I have for you..As the years went by, our bond was never broken between You, Me, and Barbie..we remained close and always remained in contact with each other..We had a special bond between Sisters..Thank God, you showed me the link for FaceTime when you were here a few years ago..Talking to you, even though you were a 1000 miles away, made it seem like you were in the same room..Our conversations, your laugh, your funny faces, and crazy antics, will forever be embedded in my heart..You’ve gone Home now, to join our other Loved Ones with God..I know that you will always watch over all of us..I miss hearing your voice, and seeing your face..You will always remain with me, until we are all together again one day in Heaven....I love you always Lainie❤️ Janny

Elaine was one in a million - a unique soul with a huge heart. She was honest, funny, immensely caring and loyal.

I am so grateful to have spent quality time with Elaine - she was great company and a genuine friend. Best mother in law I could have ever asked for.

I will miss her everyday but take comfort in all the wonderful memories I hold of her.

She embraced life as it was and never beat around the bush in terms of how she felt - she was true to herself to the very end.

Her memory will be carried on through her children and grandchildren who adored her.

We love you Elaine and know you are watching down on us x

Thank you - you lived your life well !
