I have known Eleanor since I was four years old and have wonderful memories of her. Her daughter, Lenore and I, grew up together so I spent many days, overnights, and sometimes dinner at the house. Eleanor always joked about how I moved in while our house was being renovated. She always would tease me and say" It was supposed to be overnight but it ended up being weeks!!" She was very gracious about me living there .While we all loved Ellie; as she liked to be called of late, she was not known for her culinary skills!! (Which may explain the "sometimes".) I cannot escape the memory of her cooking tongue for dinner; Lenore and I were suddenly not hungry and headed to my house. There were many jokes about that among our neighborhood group which she took in stride...easily laughing at herself. We were a tight-knit neighborhood group that got together on a regular basis...be it block parties; New Year's Eve parties; etc. .....Ellie and Clarence were always there. She had an infectious laugh that would spread to everyone in the room who had no choice but to laugh along! I also remember her fostering newborns and giving so much love to these babies it would take my breath away; even at my young age. She was SO fortunate to have Clarence in her life to take care of her and her family. I am planning to remember her infectious laugh. Godspeed Eleanor!!
