Eleanor V. Cripps Sedore, 98, of Laurel Woods Estates Port Orange died Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Southeast Hospice Care Center, Edgewater seven days before her 99th birthday. Eleanor was born September 20, 1911 in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. She grew up and was educated in Canada, and as a child had many fond memories of visiting her paternal grandparent’s plantation in Georgia, USA during her summer vacations. Eleanor and her husband, Earl retired to New Smyrna Beach, FL in 1970 after selling their business in Niagara Falls, Canada. She will be remembered as a very independent lady who was also a giving and generous soul. Eleanor would help others before herself. She was a beloved member of Grace Episcopal Church, Port Orange for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Earl Cripps and Norman Sedore. Eleanor is survived by her niece, Marion Austin and her husband, Keith; two nephews, Kenneth and Doug who all reside in Canada. Also her close friend and trustee, Bryan Heath.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange 32129.
Graveside services will be held 2:00PM, Friday, September 17, 2010 at Daytona Memorial Park, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach.
