Obituary

ELIUD GONZALEZ, 63, of Ocala, FL passed away September 15, 2019 after a long illness, surrounded by his loving sons. Eliud is survived by his sons Eliud Jr. and Jason of West Haven CT, Christian and Alexander of Ocala FL; his brothers Isaac and Phillip of FL; Sisters Diane Mora-González and Marilyn of CT and preceded by a sister, Jeannette Ortiz-González. He had five grandchildren Dequan McKeithen, Nadia, Justice, Julien and Lissella González all in Connecticut, nieces, nephews and extended family. Eliud was a loving friend to everyone.

Eliud was born in Arecibo PR to the late Felipe and Arcadia González. He graduated from Richard C. Lee High School in 1974. In the same year he met Priscilla Calo with whom he lived for 15 years and fathered his first two children, Eliud Jr. and Jason. Eliud was a very energetic person. At the early age of 18, he held a full-time job at Peck Bindery in New Haven during the day and at night he attended a technical school in Rocky Hill, CT for five years from where he graduated in 1980 as a Class A Electrician. While he was still attending school, he joined the International Brotherhood Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 90. During his apprenticeship, he worked in various major companies; his first contract was with Ducci Co. during the Yale New Haven Hospital reconstruction, New Haven Union Train Station, and Dominion Millstone Power Station in Groton, CT just to name a few.  In 1989 he married Carmen Mora and they had two sons Christian and Alexander. Soon after, in 1997, the family moved to Ocala FL where they still reside.

Eliud’s favorite pastime were Martial Arts (Taekwondo), watching football (Dallas Cowboys), play dominos with friend and family, but most of all drive and sometimes race his 1998 Ford Mustang GT.

A special thanks to the people at the Legacy House for their loving care and support during his final days.  We also like to extend our gratitude to all of you, family and friends, for your support during this difficult time.
