Obituary

Elizabeth Marie Gilmore, 55, a 3 year resident of Stonecrest in Summerfield, FL passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, after a courageous 7 year battle with Ovarian Cancer.She was born July 10, 1962 in Takoma Park, MD to her parents Francis S. Gilmore and Marion Gilmore.  She grew up in College Park, MD, attending Berwyn Elementary and Parkdale High School. Liz attended University of Maryland College Park, graduating in 1984 with a BS in Physiology/Kinesiology.After a short stint as a physical therapist, Liz found great success as a pharmaceutical sales representative, working with large pharmaceutical companies including GlaxoSmithKline, Amgen and  US Labs.Growing up Liz enjoyed being a part of Young Life, and Berwyn Baptist church Youth Group, as well as playing softball with the College Park Girls Club.  Liz also enjoyed tennis, golf, exercising, and biking. Her big passion was travelling the world, and spending plenty of time in the Caribbean sun, surf, and sand.  BUT, shopping was Liz’s number one passion, and she will be very sadly missed by South Moon Under and Nordstrom retail stores.Since moving to Stonecrest in Summerfield, FL Liz once again became an avid golfer, loving her time making new friends with the amazing, supportive Stonecrest “Nifty Niners” golf group.  Liz also cherished her Stonecrest Bowling group, and was well on her way to world senior bowling champion of the world.Liz was predeceased by her father Francis S Gilmore of Severna Park, MD.  Liz will be sadly missed by her husband, Kevin Rogers, by her mother, Marion Gilmore of Severna Park, MD, Bailey her loyal Yorkshire Terrier.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 26, 2018 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd, The Villages, FL 32159. A reception will follow immediately after the service.Flowers welcome, or preferrably, donations to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance at www.ocrfa.org, or the Hospice of Marion County at www.hospiceofmarion.com
