Obituary
Elmer D. Owen, 105, of Ocala was born on July 16, 1911 to David and Charlotte Owen in Canton, PA. His family moved to Syracuse, NY where he met and married the love of his life, Florence Hatti Seeley in 1932. They settled in Liverpool, NY where they raised two sons, Alan E. and Ronald W. Owen. Elmer served in the Army Air Corps (Gliders) as a Combat Engineer during WWII. Elmer was a life member of the Liverpool Elks, a life member of the American Legion in Pinellas Park, FL and a 32nd degree Mason. He owned and operated Elmer D. Owen Painting and Paperhanging until his retirement, when Elmer and Florence moved to St. Petersburg, FL. Elmer passed away on October 10, 2016 at the Ocala Oaks Rehabilitation Center. Elmer was predeceased by his wife Florence in 1995 and his son Alan in 1977. He is survived by his son Ronald (Barbara) of Ocala, grandchildren Kim Gonzalez of Fulton, NY, Tammy Maar of Baldwinsville, NY, Ronald R. (Denise) Owen of Fulton, NY, Tracy (Patrick) Evanchik of Mexico, NY and Debbie Mickle (Lisa Negrisor) of Camillus, NY. He is also survived by his daughter in-law Elizabeth Owen of Clay, NY and grandchildren Cindy Owen of Gainesville, FL, Mark Owen of Clay, NY and Alan Scott (Rhonda) Owen of North Syracuse, NY. In addition, he is survived by 14 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. Surviving also is his youngest brother, Dr. Merrick (Dorothy) Owen of Ocala. Arrangements by Baldwin Brothers Funerals & Cremation of Ocala 352-236-5884. Graveside services will be held at Pine Plains Cemetery in Clay NY at the convenience of the family.
So sorry to see that Uncle "Al" passed away. What a life he had and made it to 105!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family. Love, JoAnne
