Obituary

Eloise Letcher Hogue, born May 4,1931, went home to her Savior on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 94.

Born in Milltown, South Dakota, Eloise attended South Dakota State University.  She met Charlie, the love of her life, while working in Minneapolis.  They lived in the Orlando area for 62 years.  Eloise loved the Lord, her family and friends, and was generous and kind toward all she met.  She was a member of and actively involved in the Methodist Church and P.E.O..  She loved volunteering, singing in the choir, cooking and sewing and was amazingly independent until the end handling her own online grocery shopping, managing all her doctor’s appointments and travel arrangements and gifts for the entire family at 94 years old.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, Orrin and Bernice Letcher, and her step-mother, Isabel Letcher.   She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles Hogue; her children:  James (Lynn) Hogue, Lisa (Ronald) Faber, Linda (Eugene) Heavlin, and John (Debra) Hogue; her grandchildren:  Katie (Derek) Barylski, Thomas (Lauren) Faber,  Melissa (Aaron) Walker, Trey (Robin) Heavlin, Sam (Madison) Faber, Rachel Heavlin, Emily (Colton) Caslow, Hannah Heavlin, Ian Hogue, Alexander Hogue and Nicholas Hogue; six great-grandchildren; and one cherished brother, Elroy Letcher, along with many nieces and nephews.

What a great woman and friend! Eloise Hogue was fun, bright, smiling, and full of energy! She was a great sister soprano and sewed the most beautiful costumes for our cantatas ! She worked tirelessly and just had a special way to get things done! I loved her! I loved being around her positive, upbeat spirit! She was such an inspiration to be working out at the gym or attending exercise classes in her 80’s! She was strong in body, heart and soul!
