Elsie Louise Fegely, 100, was born in Clayton, N.Y. on February 24, 1912, daughter and first child of Fred and Elizabeth (Gaffney) Cerow, and passed away on October 23,2012 at the Sweet Bay Assisted Living Facility, New Smyrna Beach, Florida, where she had been a resident for approximately one and one-half years. At the time of her death, her needs were provided by the Home's owner and staff, as well as regular visits from her family, friends and the Odyssey Hospice staff.   Elsie graduated from St. Mary's High School in Clayton in 1930 and married Gerald Higgins in St. Mary's Church, Clayton in 1932. After losing her husband in a tragic auto accident in 1940, she lived in Watertown, NY until her retirement as a beautician in 1977, when she joined her daughter and family in East Aurora, NY. There she met and married her second husband, Hugh Fegely in 1984 and moved to Santee, SC until 1999 when they relocated to New Smyrna Beach. She was pre-deceased by her husbands, her two brothers, Charles F. and Gerald V., three sisters, Corrine (Sr. Mary St. Jamesina), a Holy Cross Sister, Feme Kobel and Mary Lou Coogan. Feme died in July, 2012 and Mary Lou in October, 2012. Elsie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carole and William Hart of New Smyrna Beach and Cape Vincent, NY, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She also had two step-daughters, Sandra West of Depew, NY and Gail Wiatre of Chaffee, NY.   Elsie was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church of New Smyrna Beach. She loved to cook and sew, but the greatest loves of her life were her daughter and grandchildren, David Hart of Fairport, N.Y., Steven Hart of Jupiter, FL., Peter Hart of Hamburg, NY and Patti Sullivan of Villa Rica GA, as well, of course, as her eight great grandchildren.   Memorial Mass will be 11:00 AM Friday, November 2 at Sacred Heart Church with the Redemptorist Fathers Officiating. Burial will be at the St. Mary's Cemetery at Clayton, NY. There will be no calling hours.
