Estelle Snyder was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 9, 1926. Estelle leaves her two daughters Crescent Starr and Gillian Scalici-Albrecht, her grandchildren, Stephan and Alicia Albrecht and her brother Stuart Landersman. Estelle will always be remembered by friends and family for her feisty and out spoken ways and her extreme zest for life. She worked as a legal secretary for many years, moved to new cities and enjoyed the excitement of new beginnings. Her passions were movies, music, an avid reader and caring and helping homeless animals. She passed away peacefully on November 27, 2011 with both her daughters at her side.
This is a wonderful photograph of Estelle with that twinkle in her eye and the very wide and welcoming smile. It is how I have always remembered her.
Estelle was an incredible person to have known during my years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She always had an interest in those who were in college at the time and who were fortunate enough to know her and her remarkable daughters.
Estelle was indeed a wizened woman that anyone could depend upon if she thought you worthy of her attention. Sage advice about life in general or a specific problem was taken seriously when it was offered, and fortunate were those who were on the receiving end of her observations. I always found her to be honest, direct and open on any subject without being critical, for which I am forever grateful. She represented the best in the way of living life, no matter particular hardships or difficulties, as she clearly understood there was always so much more in the way of enjoyment of life in general if you simply looked through problems to the best it has to offer.
Indeed, Estelle is missed and has always been remembered by me through the many years since Milwaukee with the greatest respect and love.
