Stories about the lives of people from the great generation always touch my heart. I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet this beautiful lady last year in FL. I hope you will always have loving memories of her.

Cindy &Len, I'm very sorry to learn of Jo's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing her for several years. She was always interested in my family and their lives. I always looked forward to seeing her when we visited and when she came up to the bowling alley to cheer us on and buy us French fries. A very dear, genuine lady with a big heart. Steve and I wish her peace in heaven.

Such a moving and beautiful tribute. Well done! While I never had the pleasure of meeting Jo, you couldn't be with Cindy or Len without hearing stories about Jo. She was truly loved by her family. We shared a birthday, so this Gemini twin wishes her godspeed to eternal peace.

We were so sorry to hear of Jo's passing. She was a spunky lady who truly appreciated the little things in life. A lesson for us all. She always greeted us with a big smile when we came to visit. Cindy, the tender care you and Len gave to your mom as her illness progressed is a testimony to your love for her. She will be missed.

She was a genuinely nice person in such a way that the rarity of her spirit made you sit up and take notice. I am so sorry for your loss (so is Matt).

When I saw Jo for the last time in Feb I had a feeling I wouldn't see her again. She was always so pleasant & willing to do ANYTHING for you. The tribute to her was very fitting. If only more of us could have the attitude towards life & people that she had. Cindy & Len, my thoughts & prayers are with you at this time. You did a WONDERFUL job of taking care of her & making sure she had everything she needed. Love you both.

I had the pleasure to visit with Ethel every Saturday morning for about two wonderful years. I did her hair at Verant't in Mi. We at Verant's send our prayers in memory of a very special lady!!!! I have done hair for 49yrs. and Ethel was and always will be my most memorable and favorite friend. That was such a beautiful tribute for a very beautiful lady!!!! I Love You Ethel xoxo

Such a great tribute to a magnificent lady! Jo was one of the most loving and compassionate women we had the privilege of knowing. She was always more concerned about how others and their families were instead of talking about herself and her ailments when they started slowing her down. She will truly be missed by many but never forgotten. Rest in peace Jo, your love will always be felt.

I have the honor to say that I was her hairstylist. During one of our many visits, she wasn't feeling well. I mentioned that when I don't feel very well or feeling down...I turn to a cheese danish, coca cola, and 'murder she wrote'. She laughed and little did I know she made a mental note of what I said. The next week she came in sat down, and Cindy said 'I'll be right back mom'. Towards the end of our visit, Cindy placed a little container on my station, and inside was the sweetest cheese danish. It was the most enduring and thoughtful act that anyone has given me. She knew it would brighten my day and fill my belly with happiness. This is who she was... A selfless, loving, caring, and thoughtful lady. I will always have her in my heart. I thank God I was blessed with the gift of knowing my lovely Ethel "Jo".

Good bless you all. What a beautiful tribute you have written. Our deepest condolences!

That was such a beautiful and accurate tribute to Mom. Ive called her that since the first time I met her 22 years ago. As you will see in my own tribute that I sent to Cindy and Candy, before reading this tribute, that I felt the same way about her. If you looked up 'LADY' in the dictionary, her picture would be there. She was the ultimate lady at all times. We had a few things in common...... 1, our desire of ironing everything!! We were neat freaks. 2, loved our Fanny May dark chocolate orange peels, and 3, the love of her family. Candy being my best friend and Cindy and Len being my dearest friends ever. She will be missed and Im deeply sorry that I didn't get to see her since she was in FL to say goodbye, so if you can hear me now Jo....."hello and goodbye. I loved you and will miss you." Susie
George and I are so sorry to hear about her passing. God Bless you and your family
