My dear friend Gene, so sadden that you have left us.
From the first day we met decades ago our friendship grew strong, our families became family.
You always made me laugh, always had a story to tell and always had a project to talk about.
Going to miss you, but you have left us with wonderful memories.
    Until we meet again.
Give Diane a hug and kiss for me.

I love this man. He was a true friend. Diane loved me like a sister. Gene rebuilt my house and made me safe. I loved him like a brother. We shared many a beer, laughs and memories. He was a good friend, a good husband, a good dad, and a good man....really, really good, decent man.
I know he is happier. He and Diane are together. They are happy. It is us on this natural earth that must adjust to their absence from our immediate lives.
I love you, Gene Shamlaty and i miss you dearly. But I am at peace knowing you are with Diane and our Lord.
    Peace♥️

I have so many great memories throughout the last 36 years growing up with Allison and always being at your house and tagging along to family gatherings during our childhood, you always made us laugh. You will be truly missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing you, but now you can rest pain-free with Diane again. My sincere condolences to Allison, Ava, and all of the family. My prayers are with you all

We only shared these last few years in friendship, but found a common interest in puzzles and books. I would find him reading at the pub and ask about his latest book. At times we would swap either a puzzle or book. His sharp wit and humor would always bring a chuckle to our time together. I think his spirit will be with me for a long time each time I visit the pub or start a new puzzle.
