Evelyn Wild, 79, of Magdalena, New Mexico died peacefully Friday, November 6, 2009 at Hospice Care Center Edgewater FL with her daughters Shira and Ruth by her side.
She was born in Newark, NJ and lived in many parts of the United States finally settling in Magdalena, NM. She enjoyed reading, knitting and all kinds of music, especially Rock & Roll.
In New Mexico she ran the Federal Commodities Program for the Magdalena Samaritan Center and Friends of Samaritan Center where she secured donations of food from various sources and organized volunteers who made distributions to needy families. During the later part of her life she became especially active in the welfare of animals.
She leaves to cherish her memory sons Adam (Kim) Wild of Seaford, NY, Michael (Renee) Shamosh of Irvington, NY, daughters Ruth (Jack) Arnone of Savannah, GA, Shira (Joseph) Russo of New Smyrna Beach, Judyth (Clark) Shamosh of Magdalena, NM, brother Donald Steeple of Flushing, NY, sister Marion Wexler of Liberty, NY, grandchildren Jason, Leila, Noah, Adam, Lisa, Tonya, Maigen, Jordan, Ryan and great grandchildren Olivia, Amelia, Jacob and Madison and last but not least her beloved dog Scrappy.
Memorial donations are requested by the family to be made to the animal welfare group of your choice.
