Hulsey, Faye went to be with her Lord on August 1, 2016. She was born on May 29, 1924 in Florence, South Carolina, to Addie and Ferdinand Beardsley. She was the youngest of three daughters and is survived by her middle sister, Helen Thompson, of Winter Park. Faye is also survived by her two children, Susan Chisari of Orlando and Steven Hulsey of Anchorage, Alaska. Faye met and married a young Air Force pilot, Marion M. Hulsey, and together they enjoyed raising their family while making their home in many places around the country. In 1969 they chose to retire in Orlando, which had been their favorite assignment. In addition to maintaining the home and family while her husband served in three wars and on several overseas assignments, Faye was active in the Officers Wives Club, holding many positions including that of President. Many hours were also spent volunteering at her children’s schools as well as her church. After almost 60 years of marriage, Faye lost her husband in 2002. She lovingly cared for him at home for the last 10 years of his life. More recently, volunteer work at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church has filled her days and her heart. When her activities became more restricted, she had a close group of friends who would come to her home to play RummiKube to keep their minds sharp. It worked! In addition to her sister and children, Faye is survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a graveside service which will be followed by a reception to celebrate her life a 10am on Aug. 13 at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1655 Peel Ave., Orlando, FL 32806. In lieu of flowers, Faye’s wish was for you to support your preferred church or charity. The family is thankful for the many prayers for peace and strength throughout her illness.
