Faye Hall Woodard Bromley, 89, went home to her Heavenly Father on September 21, 2014. She was born to the late Forney and Flora Hall in Heflin, Alabama on December 21, 1924. She came to Orlando in 1957 and lived only in two different houses in the same neighborhood. “Nanny Faye” as she was called by her family because her grandson Tony couldn’t say his R’s. Nanny taught us that all children are God’s children and it didn’t matter who their earthly mother or father was, we are to love them as God’s Children. She taught us not to judge, keeping your own door steps clean is a full time job. Also that God, Family, and Friends ae what we have and are made up of. She loved God and would want everyone to “Pay it Forward”. Survivors include her daughter, Beth Woodard Love and her husband Bobby of Orlando, three sisters, Betty Ashley, of Alabama, Geraldine McMahan and her husband Earl of Georgia, and Linda Howell and her husband Skip of Louisiana, eight grandchildren, Tony and his wife Shay, Timmy, Shannon, Steve, Stephanie, Scott, Mike and his wife Lenora, Cindy and her husband William, 13 great grandchildren, Anthony, Cody, Bradley, Jesse, Hunter, Leeya, Amber, Austin, Sebastian, Garett, Avery, Grace, and Sierra, 1 great-great grandchild, Lily, many nieces, nephews, friends and their families that loved her very much. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Bromley, two daughters, Sue Woodard Allen and Judy Woodard, one sister, Mildred Shelton and her husband Ralph, brother-in law Ed Ashley, one niece Gale Ashley Franson, and nephew Mike Ryder. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2p.m., at Beulah Baptist Church, 671 Beulah Road, Winter Garden, Florida 34787. She will be laid to rest in Heflin, Alabama at Happy Hill Baptist with her daughter Judy. Hope to see you there. LOVE GOD, LOVE OTHERS, LIVE IT OUT. In her honor the family asks that you plant a plant or planter. Memorial Contributions may be made to Beulah Baptist Church.
It's with much sadness that we temporarily have to say goodbye to you. I know your are at peace now.
I will always be grateful that our paths crossed. You have given me one of the nicest memories in my lifetime. I will never forget our weekend in the cabin in N.C. I sure hope there is a cabin in the sky that three of you will be preparing when the other two are ready to make their journey home. Just remember not to prepare a large meatloaf that you will eventually have to throw down the mountain. Please don't worry about Beth as I will always be there for her.
So, Faye, rest in peace and give my love to Mom & Lorraine. See you soon!
Annie & Family
This song wraps it up when I think of her:
I can just see them
walking on the shores of heaven
praising the lord
and watching the tide roll in
friends that have gone on
oh,how i miss you so
and somehow I know if you could
that you'd let me know
that you're doing fine
and it doesn't hurt anymore
things couldn't be better
that heaven is worth waiting for
that you miss me to and til then
you'll be praying for me
and i know if you could
talk to me now
than here's what you'd say to me
chorus:
wish you were here
it's such a beautiful place
wish you were here
nothing but clear sunny days
well it never rains
and no one complains
and we haven't seen a tear
we're having a great time
wish you were here...
I can just see them
walking on the shores together
their talking with Jesus
safe and secure in his love
friends and loved ones
walking in heavenly peace
and I know if they could
talk to me now
then here's what they'd say to me
chorus:
wish you were here
it's such a beautiful place
wish you were here
nothing but clear sunny days
well it never rains
and no one complains
and we haven't seen a tear
we're having a great time
wish you were here...
well it never rains
and no one complains
and we haven't seen a tear
oh, we're having a great time
and we wish you were here
I am thankful to her for loving my daddy, giving me my sisters which gave me my beautiful niece, and my nephews. Though life moved on she remained a good and loyal friend to Daddy and to my mother. I will always hold her in respect for that and many more things.
I was thinking of you today and a smile tickled my face.
Remembering all the things you taught me, like always to say grace.
I remember sitting in your lap while you read the Bible out loud,
To hear me sing a gospel song made you so proud.
I thought of those Saturday mornings I watched them fix your hair,
I remember crossing the street and hearing GIRL YOU BETTER STOP RIGHT THERE!!!
I remember the goodness you instilled in me though' sometimes it doesn't show,
You played a very special part in my life
and I thought that you should know.... My childhood is filled with memories of you that you couldn't buy with all the gold in the world,
And even though' I am all grown up, at heart I will always be Stephanie Faye aka NANNY'S LIL' GIRL!!!
