Obituary

Francis Anthony Lazenka Jr., known to all as Frank, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side. A devoted husband to his college sweetheart, and lifelong partner of 49 years, Mary Lou Lazenka, Frank lived a life marked by service, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family and community.

He is survived by his beloved wife, his sister Judy, his sons Tony and Matt, his daughter Colette, and his grandchildren: Chloe, Eliza, Norah, Ezekiel, and Gabriel. Frank’s greatest joy came from watching his family grow and thrive, and he took immense pride in each of them.

Frank earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Scranton, where he was a member of the National Collegiate Honor Society, Delta Mu Delta Honor Society (Business), Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society (Economics), and the National High School Honors Program. His academic excellence and leadership were evident early in life and continued throughout his career.

He spent over three decades in public service as a Senior Supervisory Auditor for the Naval Audit Service, where he led logistics and weapons systems audits with integrity and precision. Outside of work, he was a passionate advocate for youth sports, serving for more than 30 years as a State Referee and Instructor with the Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association and the United States Soccer Federation. His mentorship and leadership shaped generations of young athletes across Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Florida.

Frank’s life was defined by quiet strength, ethical leadership, and a deep love for animals and community. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to youth sports organizations or local animal shelters, causes that were close to Frank’s heart.

He will be remembered for his warm smile, his steadfast values, and the enduring love he gave to all who knew him.
