Obituary

In loving memory of Frank Grillo, U.S. Navy Veteran, loving husband, father, and brother who died peacefully in the comfort of his home.  Frank was known for his special gift to tell a joke with wit and humor and always left the crowd smiling.  He also had a great love for animals – he never met a dog he didn’t like.

Frank was born in New York City, his family moved to Bethpage, Long Island when he was a teenager.  While a member of the golf team at Bethpage High School, Frank played and caddied at the Bethpage Black Course.  After graduation from HS, Frank enlisted in the Navy and served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam.

Upon completing his service in Vietnam, Frank accepted a job with IBM in California.  His management skills and entrepreneurial spirit led him to successfully start and operate his own business products company (S.C.O.P.E.) for many years before selling the business to Panasonic.

Frank returned to his east coast roots in 2005 and later became a New York/Florida snowbird. In the summer he and his wife could be found at Watch Hill, Fire Island NY on their boat eating clams; and in the winter at the Daytona 500 and NY Mets Spring Training in Port St. Lucie.  He and his wife recently moved into a beautiful new home in New Smyrna Beach.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Suzanne, daughter Michelle, sister Ann Marie and loving family and friends. He will be missed greatly.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Frank’s life at a memorial service to be held at Baldwin Brothers, New Smyrna Beach on Thursday, April 13th at 1pm with a luncheon to follow.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to one of Frank’s favorite charities, in his loving memory, will be appreciated:  Shriners Hospital for Children, 12502 USF Pine Drive, Tampa, Fl 33612, Vietnam Veterans of America, 1125 W King Street #A Cocoa, FL 32922 or Pawsibility Rescue Group, 2480 Guava Dr, Port Orange, FL 32128.

RIP Frank. You were one of my only witnesses to my " near drowning ". How we used to laugh about that whenever we could get together. You were a competitive ping pong player and we had loads of fun battling in my garage, wherever we went people enjoyed your humor, intellect and warm heart. YOU will but missed!
