Francis Joseph Chanudet, 88, New Smyrna Beach Florida died Friday, January 23, 2009 at Hospice Care Center Edgewater.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and served in the US Army Air Corps during W W II where he was stationed in China with the Flying Tigers. He moved to this area in 1980 from Slidell, Louisiana. He later worked and a too and die maker and design engineer for Martin Marietta. His hobbies included building replicas of local interest points including the Eldora House. He volunteered at Canaveral National Seashore Park for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Elizabeth, daughters Mary Elizabeth and Charles Covert of Knoxville, TN, Pat Stark of Lougmon, CO, a son John Chanudet of Cocoa, five grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Timothy.
Memorial donations are requested to Hospice of Volusia 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange Fl 32119.
At the request of the family no services are scheduled.
