What sad news. Fran was a great friend to me when I was in my late teens. We reconnected about ten years ago on Facebook and then just as fast, he was gone. I tried many times to find him, and just saw this today. Rest in Peace, my dear friend. You will be missed by many when I share this sad news. You were kind, tolerant, smart, and a seeker of truth and knowledge.
A Clear Midnight
This is thy hour
O Soul, thy free flight into the wordless,
Away from books, away from art, the day erased, the lesson done,
Thee fully forth emerging, silent, gazing, pondering the themes thou lovest best,
Night, sleep, death and the stars.

Fran , what a wonderful friend you've been to so many people. We will all Miss the great tone of your laugh from the stories you told along with some of the topic of the stories. I know I couldn't tell some of them if they were made up or if they truly happened. I know we missed many years of our lives going in different directions but that happens to friends and then we meet again and then it's like we were never apart and the laughter begins. As I started out saying you meant so much to so many people but you meant more to DI than anybody I know. She was your greatest supporter the last years of your life and as I remember you were a an answer to her prayers, her knight in shining armor the moment she saw you years and years and years ago; that ultimate match made in heaven. I'm so glad she was with you then at your final hours , talking to you as you wandered down that dark road alone. DI was there with you talking to you along the way trying to comfort you and she could during this very difficult time for her. Doing the best that she could in her pain knowing she was losing her knight in shining armor of long long ago. Until we meet again my friend! I will say prayers for you, help watch over us and send us a sign once in awhile especially DI that you're doing fine.
