Frank Albert Zannit, 84 of Ocala died Thursday, May 8, 2014. He has gone home to his eternal resting place to be with the Lord, and his Mom, Dad and two brothers in the Big grocery store in Heaven. Frank was born in Vandergrift, PA (outside Pittsburgh) on November 10, 1929 and later moved to Ocala, FL. He is survived by his son, Frank P. and his wife, Mickey of Ocala; granddaughter, Heather and grandson, Jesse. Frank was the son of Italian immigrants; he along with his family owned and operated several small grocery stores in the Pittsburgh area. He served in the US Army from 1951- 1953. After moving to Ocala in themed 70’s he stayed in the grocery business working for Publix Supermarkets and later retired. Frank was an avid football player in his youth. He was a hard core Steelers fan, after moving to Ocala became a #1 Gator Fan. He loved nothing better in life then talking about the Gators and his grandkids. Frank was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church and loved God, his family and friends. A celebration of Frank’s life will be at a later date.
