Obituary
Frank R. McClintock, age 86 of The Villages, Florida, formerly of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2018. He was the son of John Flannigan and Iryl McClintock of Elizabeth. He is survived by his beloved wife Nancy (Taylor) McClintock; loving father of Cindy (Terry Paterni), Tami (Michael Jubic), stepsons Greg (Amy) and David Lyons; he was loving “Pap” to grandchildren Christopher, Lauren, Kelly, Sean, Jesse, Mike and Josh; and proud great granddaughter Lyla.
Frank was born August 12, 1931 in McKeesport, PA, and grew up in Elizabeth, PA. After serving in the Army, he eventually became a Nationwide Insurance Agent, making his mark as a member of his community and neighboring towns for over 40 years. This suited him well because he was a “people person,” and his customers came to love, trust, and respect him over the years. Likewise, one of Frank’s most treasured qualities was his great sense of humor in which he was an expert at the comeback. He was outgoing, quick witted, and always cracking jokes, which could brighten anyone’s day. Frank’s hearty laugh and jovial spirit is what kept the party going.
Frank was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church of West Mifflin, PA. He was considered a leader in the church, where he served as a deacon for many years. One of the former pastors of Calvary Baptist had this to say about Frank: “ I identified Frank immediately as a man of God and a man’s man. Frank was always quick to stand up for what was right and righteous regardless of the opposition. Not only did he stand up, but he also stood by me when decisions were difficult.”
But it was his deep love of music for which he will be most fondly remembered. He was blessed with an incredible voice. He sang at many weddings and special occasions and was a member of the McKeesport Choraliers for many years. He used his voice to glorify his Lord in church and served at Calvary Baptist as the choir director, music director, as well as a member of the worship team in later years.
In addition to being an active member of his church, Frank made many special memories at one of his favorite spots – Bear Run Campground in Portersville, PA. He camped there for 28 years, cherishing quality time spent with friends and family.
Frank’s greatest desire was to leave a legacy to his family of living an upright and Godly life and to leave this example as their heritage.
Memorial celebrations will be held on Saturday, June 16 at 2 pm at the Church @ The Springs, The Villages Campus, 1601 Tracy Ave. Lady Lake FL, 32159 and for PA friends and family on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11 am at Calvary Baptist Church, 120 Anborn Drive, West Mifflin, PA 15122.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in the memory of Frank to one of the above churches.
