Born January 19, 1930 in Milford, DE. Parents were Myrtle H. Reedy and Frank V. O. Reedy, Sr.
Graduated Milford High School in 1948.
Enlisted in the Delaware State Guard at age 17 and served 16 years total between the Delaware State Guard, the Delaware National Guard and the New Jersey National Guard, attaining the rank of E8 by 1964.
Met Doris Hullen while attending military communications school at Fort Monmouth, NJ. Married on February 17, 1951 and resided in Monmouth County N.J. Doris and Frank had four children, Arthur, Frank III, Cathy Salm, and Cheryl.
Sadly, Doris passed away due to cancer on July 1, 1964.
Married Georgia Ateek and had one son, Lance.
July 27, 1990 Married Linda Hill Wengland with her three children; Scot, Sharon Chapin and Sheryl Willett.
Worked for Bond Electric, Chris’s Electric and was owner operator of B & R Electric before going to Riverview Medical Center as their electrician, retiring from there in 1993. Was a member of Monmouth & Ocean Electrical Contractors Association, served one term as president.
Enjoyed camping and canoeing with family and friends. Enjoyed bowling and was secretary for two bowling leagues and treasurer for a third league. Enjoyed working with a variety of youth groups as the kids were growing up. Worked for several years with the Fair Haven Pop Warner Football Team as an assistant coach with the junior team. Was a Scout leader for the Fair Haven Boy Scout Troop 24.
Was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1995. Worked diligently as an advocate for prostate cancer in NJ. Participated in many symposiums and round tables in Washington DC. Was the founding secretary for the Prostate Cancer Coalition of New Jersey and on the Board of Directors of the National Alliance of States Prostate Cancer Coalitions. Originated and published a prostate cancer newsletter for patients and their significant others. Won the Adams Award from the American Cancer Society in 2007.
