Obituary
Franklin Isaac Newton Jr., 96, of Fort Myers, passed away October 3, 2019, at Discovery Village in Fort Myers, FL. He was born December 8, 1922, in Paterson, NJ. Franklin proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree from Rutgers University, an alumni of Phi Kappa Delta, later working as a chemical engineer. He relocated to southwest Florida from New Jersey in 1984. Franklin enjoyed golf and was a member of Jacaranda Country Club. He is survived by his children Franklin (Linda) Isaac Newton III of Harrington, DE., Richard Bates Newton of San Antonio Tlayacapan Jalisco, Mexico, Nancy (Michael) McKay of Fort Myers, FL., Donna Giorno of Houston, TX., grandchildren Christopher, Brian, and Kevin Newton of Allentown, PA., Amanda (Shawn) DeGeer of Spring, TX., Michael (Brandi) Giorno and John (Kelly) Richard Giorno of League City, TX., Michael (Carol) McKay of Dover, NH., Andrew (Sara) McKay of Marblehead, MA., and Sean (Sarah) McKay of New York City, NY. Also surviving are his great grandchildren Julianne and Kamella DeGeer, Victoria and Walker Giorno, Brandon, Powell, and Christian Giorno, Molly and Katelyn McKay, and Ava Albies, Lillian, Landon, and Eliza McKay, Franklin I. Newton IV and Nate Newton. Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, Fort Myers, assisted with arrangements.
