Frederick A. Schuknecht, 81, of Ormond Beach passed away at Halifax Health Hospice of Port Orange on Wednesday, May 9, 2010. Born to Frederick and Helen Schuknecht on March 4, 1929 in Akron, NY. Formerly of Clarence, NY and Orange City, FL. Fred was a 30 year retiree of General Motors based at Harrisons, Lockport, NY. He moved to this area in 1993 and enjoyed woodworking, cards and his grandchildren. Fred was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clarence, NY and a member of the Eagles, Moose and Elks Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a young brother, Byron of Fillmore, NY. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Virginia; three sons, Larry and daughter-in-law, Bonnie of Clarence Center, NY, Frederick IV and daughter in law, Esther of Rochester, NY and Silver Lake NY and Robert and daughter-in-law, Kristen of Sharon, MA; five grandchildren, Katrina, Hans, Adam, Benjamin and Nathanial; step-children, Tom Henry and Margo Wethal who Fred always said, “Was the daughter he never had”. Fred is also survived by step-grandchildren, John, Kris and his wife, Jen, Amy, Tomas, Erin, Emily and Lauren; step great-grandchildren, Zoi, Sofia, Olivia, London.
A celebration of Fred’s life will take place at a later date.
Burial will be at the Pioneer Cemetery, NY.
