Obituary
Gale “Like the Storm” Talbott passed away on September 10, 2016 at the age of 79, in The Villages, Florida, with family at her side, following a recurrence of leukemia.
Gabby was born in Dayton, Ohio, graduated from Dayton Stivers in 1955, attended The Ohio State University, and in 1958 married her high school sweetheart, Thomas (TD) Talbott, who survives her.
While TD’s coaching career took the couple from Dayton Belmont to Huron to Oregon Cardinal Stritch to Uniontown Lake and finally to sunny Florida, Gabby’s steadfast focus was on raising her family.
She was the proud mother of Todd David, who passed away recently, and of Marty (Bill) Wagner (of El Dorado Hills, California) and Casey (Katie) Talbott (Ottawa Hills, Ohio), who survive, Gabby is also survived by her grandchildren (Kyle, Andy, Anna, Truman, Harley, and Archie), and a great grandchild who is on the way (surprise), and her beloved puppy dog, “Gabby”.
Gabby devoted great effort to making certain that her oldest son, Dave, was both safe and provided for, following his significant brain/head injury in 1978. Dave having recently passed, the family’s sense is that Gabby felt that her work here was done.
So we hope and pray (and believe) that Gabby and her first born son are now reunited, in a Glorious Place.
“Ma, Big Ma” was truly the glue that held the Talbott family together.
And by far, she was the toughest of the bunch, having survived a number of years after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and battling gallantly in recent years with both Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s.
The family will hold a private service, and host an informal celebration of Gabby’s life on Saturday, September 17, 2016 between the hours of 4-6:00pm at the Hacienda Regional Recreation Center 1200 Avenida Central Lady Lake, Florida 32159.
In lieu of flowers, anyone wishing to make a donation in Gale’s name is encouraged to consider Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares Florida 32778, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
