Obituary
Gale E. Sauer, 85, of the Villages passed away September 14th, 2020.
Gale was born in Milwaukee, WI in 1935 to parents Alice and Edwin Sauer. He leaves behind his loving wife Alice of 62 years and a sister Lois Degler. Alice and Gale had two sons, Dr Gary Sauer and James Sauer. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Greg, jill, Allison, Meghan and Ryan.
At 18 Gale joined the U.S. Army and served two years during the Korean War.
After discharge, Gale went to the University of Wisconsin, where he met Alice.
After graduation he started his very satisfying, life long, career designing and developing new products to be used in the building industry. For his designs and inventions, he was awarded over forty patents.
Gale also participated in volunteer organizations, which include American Society of Testing and Materials, NY Forest Owners Association, Master Forest Owners Volunteers, Building Committee Chairman and Director for the Sinclairville Library, KIWANIS, and the Jamestown NY Audubon Society.
Gale Had a special love for nature and the great outdoors. He enjoyed archery, hunting, cross country skiing and many good times with family and friends at his cabin and forest land in Southwestern NY State
There will be a celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
