Obituary

Gary Donald LeMaster, 77, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022 at Cornerstone Mariposa Hospice House in The Villages, Florida. Gary was born March 19, 1945, a member of the Cherokee Nation, to John Adair and Mellie T. LeMaster in Afton, Oklahoma. He was eleventh of 12 brothers and sisters along with one half-brother. He has resided in Ocala, Florida since 1986.

Gary is survived by his wife, Beulah Irene LeMaster, of 55 years, son Curtis Richard, grandsons Jacob, Troy, Holt, and granddaughter Shay. Gary was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone.

Gary started his collegiate education at Independence, Kansas on a football scholarship. He then attended the University of Oklahoma for his Doctor of Pharmacy (PD) where he met his wife. He worked as a pharmacist and even managed many Drug stores throughout the state of Florida. He returned to Oklahoma to attend at Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma to acquire a Master’s in Business (MBA). After his MBA, he was accepted at the University of Oklahoma for his Juris Doctor (JD). He started his legal profession as Assistant District Attorney in Ocala, Florida. He was a lawyer in Ocala for over 35 years.

He loved fishing and playing golf. When he was not doing these two sports, he would sit home and watch his favorite teams, Oklahoma Sooners and Florida Gators. Most people knew him as the palm tree man. He had an amazing gift of landscaping his yard with many palm trees. He loved working on his yard especially after retirement.

There will be no funeral services at this time. Gary will be cremated. His remains will be left to rest alongside his parents and other siblings buried in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Grove, Oklahoma at a later date.
