Gene Allen Sanderlin was born on February 3, 1930 in Memphis TN, to Joseph and Mariann
Sanderlin. He was the youngest of three boys: Joseph and Lew. On the morning of August 16th 2020,
Gene departed this earth at the age of 90 and is now in his heavenly resting place. He was blessed to
have been in the company of his daughter Tina when he passed. Prior to his death, he accepted the Lord
Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. His famous last words repeated often prior to his death were “when
the roll is called, I’ll be there.” Anyone who has known him over the years will have many memories to
cherish. And the family will benefit from the wisdom that he left us with to navigate this thing called life.
He owned many businesses include gas stations and car washes over the years. He was a model plane
builder and a pilot/owner of his own Cessna aircraft. Gene could build anything and had a green thumb
when it came to gardening. Known for his outspoken nature, he was also a truly kind and loving man.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his children Tina Davis, Gene
Albert (May) Sanderlin, Karen Champion, Jeanene Gadhvi, and a host of grandchildren, great
grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins, neighbors and friends. He was
