I still talk to my dad. He passed in 2019. So, I'm good talking to you too. When I moved to CT in 1974, I was 10. Steve and I met in Ms. Smith's 5th grade homeroom at Davenport Ridge Elementary School. Thank you for making great kids with saltine Barb. You and Mrs. D always made me feel welcome when I came up to Michael Road to hang out with Steve, dunk on the low hoop basket and eat your food. I remember sharing church activities at 1st United Methodist where Steve was the President of the Youth Group. It was also fun having our families mix it up on the ski slopes as well. The nostalgia of adventure in North Stamford always makes me smile - flying off the rope swing at the reservoir, skinny dipping with Steve at night in an outdoor pool & sleeping over in Steve's cool basement bedroom. You and Barb made all the possible. Thanks especially for making your wonderful son Steve. He remains one of my most cherished friends - his selflessness, humor, practicality and patience all inspire me, even today, now that Steve and I are older.
With love and admiration, Sweet Briar Mike
Always up for a boat ride! Rest in peace Dad!
