Obituary

George Lee Green, age 85, passed away after a battle with cancer, just before 3am on September 10th, 2020.
George is survived by his wife, Ann Green, of Daytona Shores, Florida, as well as his son George Jr., and daughter Zena Cypher, along with grandchildren Kyle, Laura, Mark, Brandon, and Madison, as well as five great-grandchildren.
He was born on January 8th, 1935, in Brooklyn, New York.
During his time with the Air Force, he met his wife in Great Britain, the two marrying shortly afterwards and remaining together for over sixty-five years. His faithful devotion to his wife is matched only by the commitment and love he shared with his children and grandchildren. He was deeply loved, and is equally missed.
George’s life was a light unto this world, even in the darkest of years and darkest of circumstances. Even throughout his struggles, his focus was on others, on service, and making this world a brighter place. Even now, his memory still shines with brilliance and warmth.

George will be interned at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery at 12:30 on Thursday, September 24th.

Dear Ann and family, George was a force to be reckoned with along with you, Ann on the pickleball courts. Although we lived in the same condo, I met you both on the courts. George was a true competitor and great guy. I enjoyed competing with him. May he rest in peace and may you and your family find peace and closure. I send my deepest sympathy, Melanie Rupp # 1407.

Rest in peace dear George. You and Annie were by far the best neighbors we've ever had and we feel so blessed that even though miles and time were between us we were able to stay in touch through Zena. We were truly blessed to have become friends with you both. You were the cutest and most loving couple we've very known. Prayers and deepest condolences to Annie, Zena, George and family. You were special too all and will be missed by all. Annie, sending virtual hugs and love to you.

I didn't get to know Mr. George very well, but knowing how loving Mrs. Z is, I'm thinking he was a pretty incredible man. I loved hearing stories about him and seeing pictures of his smiling face. I could tell he loved his family and wife so very much. What an amazing legacy to leave here on this earth! I'm honored to know his family and I'm praying for them - Peace and comfort! Amen.
