Life Celebration for George Kimber Watkins, 79, New Smyrna Beach FL who died Monday, April 18, 2011 will be 10:30 AM Saturday, May 7 at Coronado Community United Methodist Church 200 S Peninsula New Smyrna Beach FL with The Reverend Esther Robinson officiating.
George was born in New York City. He served our nation in the US Army in Korea and Japan as a correspondent for the Army news and information service. He later worked in the food industry including ITT Continental Baking Company in Rye, NY and Ocean Spray Cranberries in Plymouth MA. His family remembered his lifelong love for sailing, but the jewel of his life was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children Eleanor ‘Skoshi’ Howard, Susan Kimber Watkins, Johnson Clifford Watkins, Scott Donovan Watkins, his companion Mara Whitridge, grandchildren Sarah, Chad, Bethany, Kimber, Mary, Stephen, Ryan, Colin, Aidan and great grandchildren Sloane and Aidan.
