He was a fine teacher at Brooklyn Prep remembered fondly 54 years later by a grateful student.

We met over 70 years ago and I called him "Buddy". Then and Now and Forever!!! He introduced me to the Brooklyn Public Library and opened up a new world for me.

Although we did not see one another often, I was there for his Ordination and for his Wedding. Thankfully we were at least a telephone presence for each other despite the limits of geography and free time. In fact, we spoke a week before he died. Buddies to the end.

My sympathies go out to the entire family but most especially to Diane who was such a wonderful companion in his life's journey.

I was standing in the awesome library at Trinity College a couple days ago and felt that George was with me. His knowledge and understanding of humanity’s attempt to understand the universe and man’s place in it was an inspiration to me.

George was the facilitator of the Great Books/Great Conversations Group and the Short Story Group at the Elsie Quirk Library in Englewood for years where his love of history, literature, and culture amazed and inspired his fellow readers. An excellent group leader, he encouraged all of us to think and respond to the readings. Requiescat in pace.
