Obituary

George Fuller Nickerson, 90 years old passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, of Edgewater, FL formerly of Walpole, Massachusetts. George and Esther, his wife, shared 64 wonderful years together. They became “snowbirds” between Osterville, Cape Cod, MA, and Edgewater upon their retirement.

George leaves behind his wife, Esther, and three children: Cynthia Lawless (Richard), Pamela Minkin (Paul), Jeffrey Nickerson (Valerie) and four grandchildren: Victoria and Isabelle Minkin and Erik and Sarah Nickerson and his brother Charles Y. Nickerson.

George was born on November 11, 1932, in Philadelphia, PA to Charles Fuller Nickerson and Maude Yardley Nickerson. He graduated from Norwich University in 1956 with a Business Administration degree and as a 2nd Lieutenant with the US Army as a tank commander. He received an honorable discharge in 1964.

He founded and was the owner of Pilgrim Instrument and Controls, Inc. in East Walpole, MA as a manufacturing representative. He was co-founder of Walpole Assembly of God church in MA. He was deeply devoted to his local church and community. He was involved in the men’s ministry, Royal Rangers- boys mentoring program, teaching Sunday School, Missions trips and served wherever needed even at his current church, THE WELL in Edgewater. In his community, he ran for selectman and held the position of constable of Norfolk County. He enjoyed reading, golf, word searchers and family camping trips. His family and friends will always remember him as a strong man of God, quiet, kind, faithful and a heart to serve others.

A celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, May 28, 2023, at 9:30 AM at Pelican Cove West Clubhouse on 210 Falcon Avenue, Edgewater, FL with reception to follow. All are welcome.
