Obituary
George Perry Weedman of Ocklawaha, FL, age 80, passed away on December 8, 2021. Born and raised in Mascotte, FL, he attended Groveland High school before serving in the United States Army. He later moved to Ocklawaha where he resided since 1971.
George retired from Sears & Roebuck after over 35 years of service as a top selling home improvement salesman. He was a member of the Elks for 54 years and also a member of the Ocala Forest Moose. He was a member of St Joseph’s of the Forest Catholic Church.
He loved travel and adventure and was an avid salt water angler, enjoyed boating, swimming and scuba diving. He also loved history, especially anything involving the Civil War. He had a great sense of humor and loved making people laugh.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary, his daughters Gail Hering (Fred), Georgia Bemiss (Ward), his son Lee (April) and granddaughters. Stephanie, Megan and Brooke Bemiss, his sisters Judy Jenkins (Ellis) and Gail Exum and his brother Dale Robertson and many beloved nephews and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on January 8th at St. Josephs of the Forest Catholic Church.
