Obituary
George William Roan, 71, of N. Ft. Meyers, FL passed away on August 10, 2020 at his residence. He was born on June 28, 1949 in St. Augustine, FL to the late Clayton Alfred Roan and Susie Virginia (Smith) Roan. George worked as a Contractor, was a proud Veteran of the US Army, a member of the American Legion, a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, and he was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. He was an avid Nascar fan, and he enjoyed building model ships and cars. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Linda Roan; his son, William Roan; his daughter, Jennifer Roan; his daughter, Jessica Master; his son, John Glover and his wife Della; his daughter, Julia McCarthy and her husband Tom; his sister, Nettie Smith and her husband Jerry; his sister, Johnny Day; his brother, John “Lucky” Brewington; his sister, Susie Brewington; and his 12 grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Alfred Roan; his mother, Susie Virginia (Smith) Roan; his daughter, Sherry; his brother, Clayton Roan, and his stepfathers, John Brewington and Walter Kinlaw. Burial will take place at Sarasota National Cemetery at 9:00 am, Friday, August 14, 2020.
