Georgine “Mitzi” Nixon Buechele, 73, of The Villages, Florida, formerly of Greensburg, Pennsylvania died Sunday, December 23, 2018, at Florida Hospital Waterman. She was born April 18, 1945, in the Pittsburgh area to Andrew Nixon and Rose Vucinovich Nixon and was raised in Clairton. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Millersville College in 1967 and her Masters in Education from Utah State University. Mitzi worked as a reading teacher at Bethel Park Middle School for 37 years and at Westmoreland Community College after retiring from teaching. Mitzi was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mitzi was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gregory Michael “Mike” Buechele. She is survived by her son, Greg Buechele, his wife Ashley, and their daughters Cosette, Tess and Vivienne of New York; sister Mary Ann Achorn and her husband George; sister Katheryn George and her husband Albert; brother Andrew Nixon and his wife Patricia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Service time is 12:30 Tuesday January 29, 2019, at Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages, Florida.
