Obituary

Gerald E. Arthur, 62, of Keysville, Virginia, passed away December 26, 2018, at Hospice House of Lehigh Acres, Florida. Gerald was born October 22, 1956, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Son to Larry Arthur and Phyllis Young Arthur. Gerald proudly served in the United States Army and later went on to become a professional barber at Gene & Gerald’s Barber Shop in Fort Myers, Florida. It was from here that he retired in 2014 and moved with his wife, Carol, to Keysville, Virginia. He owned and operated the town’s only barber shop in Keysville. Gerald was very kind and caring and was always the first to lend a hand to someone in need. Whether a stranger, or long-time friend or family member, Gerald had the uncanny ability to make you feel like a friend. He knew no strangers. He will be greatly missed by all.

Gerald E. Arthur is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carol Arthur. His son and wife, John and Janessa Weiland. His grandchildren Madison, Alex, and Libby Weiland. Daughter-in-law and husband, Jennie and Joe Stanek and their son Joey Stanek. Brother and wife, Glenn and Linda Perkinson. Sister and husband, Kathy and Steve Harkey. Sister and husband, Debbie and Jim Swan. Sister and husband Vickie and Vic Sullivan. Sister and husband, Mel and Ronnie Dixon. Also many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A Celebration of Life in honor of Gerald will be held for immediate family members at a later date.
