Obituary

Gerald L. Bauer, Jerry, passed away on July 18, 2021 at the age of 78, in Port Orange, Florida. Even though his failing heart took him away from this world, his loving heart left behind a legacy of hope and encouragement for all his family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his two children, Bobby and Diane, as well as his grandchildren Kayla, Robert, Michael, Daniel, and Mason and his great grandson, Kyler.  Jerry’s favorite hobbies were fishing and playing music on his keyboard. Jerry also had a passion for racing cars and watching races.  Jerry is a Veteran of the United States Navy where he served for 10 years in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Jerry had a passionate love for food and every meal was considered “the best meal ever” no matter what is was. Crab claws and fish were his favorites. Jerry loved to catch fish and fry them up to share with everyone.

Jerry spent time with his children and grandchildren, as well as his siblings and nieces and nephews whenever he could. Everyone loved “Uncle J” and how he made them laugh. Jerry’s friends from his church and music entertainment career spent quality time with him.  Jerry played the keyboard and sang in several bands, his most recent being with the famous Trey Dees who now performs in Branson, Missouri.  Jerry’s bright smile and cheerful attitude will be missed by many who watched him sing and play the keyboard.

A funeral mass in celebration of his life will be held at 11am on August 3 at Church of the Ephiphany in Port Orange, Florida with a small luncheon afterwards at the VFW in Port Orange, Florida
