Obituary
Gerald (Jerry) Asmus, 81, of the villages Florida passed away on December 19, 2020 after losing his battle with Parkinson’s and Dementia. He was born on January 25, 1939 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin to the late Henry and Ruth (Neeb) Asmus. And also preceded by a brother-in-law Jack (JoAnn) Bottoni of Santa Clarita, California.
He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather in addition to a talented artist after he retired.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 61 years Susan (nee Bottoni) Asmus, three children: Greg (Maria), Gary (Tammy), and Geoff (Debbie), 7 grandchildren, Sara (Nick) Eplin, Andrew (Payton), Melody, Aidan, Miles, Keegan and Devon, and 1 great grandchild Gwen Eplin.
He will also be remembered as a loving brother to Audrey (Pelzer) of Cedarburg, Wisconsin, and Jeanne (Mark) Polzin of Northport, Florida. He is further survived by 2 sisters in law Mary (Bottoni) Metz and Judi (Steve) Molla, both of Sevierville, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Jerry’s name to a Parkinson’s or Dementia charity of your choice.
Burial will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell FL on Friday May 21, 2021 at 2:30 PM. All Friends are invited to say a final goodbye with a celebration of life at Chatham Recreation Center at 5 PM.
