Ocala - Gerald (Jerry) Willett, 87, passed away on Thursday, March 5th, 2015.
Jerry was born on December 8th, 1927, in Pontiac, Michigan. He was a Navy veteran. Once out of the service, he was employed at Buick Motor Division in
Flint, Michigan, and retired after 41 1/2 years. Shortly after retirement, he and his wife Joanne moved to Northport, MI, then ended up wintering in Lakeland Florida, and finally settling in Ocala, Florida, for the last eight years.
Jerry's interest included gardening (receiving his Master Gardeners degree shortly after retiring), playing cards, "Happy Hour" with many of his friends, many
pets over the years, fixing things, and he was always there to help others when needed. He was well liked, respected and will be dearly missed by all those who
had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joanne (Wascher) Willett, daughter Christine (Willett) Beers, Ocala, FL, son, David Willett (Liza), Ann Arbor, MI,
grandsons, Eric Beers, Ocala, FL, Jackson Willett, Ann Arbor, MI, sisters, Marjorie Vaughn, Springfield, OR, Pauline McClure, Northport, MI, nephews, Phil (Sheila)
Vaughn, (OR), Larry Vaughn (OR) Christopher (Barbara) and James McClure, MI, nieces, Beth (Bruce) Gelenius (IN), Mary (Steve) Osmar, Martha (Tom) Shaver, Elizabeth (Gary) Reason, and Kathy Alverson, all from Michigan, and many great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to your local Humane Society in his memory. Jerry's final resting place will be at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
