I have so many great memories of my dad. I inherited my love of horror movies from my him. He loved them all, even the terrible ones. I would go downstairs while he was watching them and join him, then have nightmares, ha! He also loved to watch sports and yell at the TV!
One of my favorite memories was when he shaved his mustache. I was in elementary school and he had worn a mustache my whole life. Then one day he just randomly came home from work with no mustache. I just thought it was the weirdest thing to see him with no mustache and I teased him a lot. Then he grew it back because he was tired of hearing about it.

Jerry loved life like no one else I ever knew. He didn't like to talk about his past hurts, hang-ups, or habits. He accepted himself lock, stock, and barrel. As we grew in our relationship he listened and learned who I was and let me pursue my own path. When I would cut my hair to practically nothing, or gain 20 pounds, he never criticized. He had room in his heart for all of me every day. He never made a scene about not getting enough attention. He was just as happy at home watching tv and helping me cook, as he was taking me to New Orleans or Estes Park. We made each other happy and it was a good 23 years we spent together. The only thing he regretted about the move we made to Florida was the physical distance between himself and his kids. We got a little hound dog named BJ that he loved to pieces. We tried to take her to the fresh market and she barked and lunged at all the other dogs. We took her to watch the toy boat races on the lake and she liked that. We would have guest dogs over and could accept that and became best friends with Dukie. We have great pictures and I will have great memories. Jerry didn't even know he was a cat person until we got Skippo and Kitty, then later Molly and Asher. Our life was full of love and giving and sharing.
