Gerry Hite Lawrence, 63, of New Smyrna Beach, passed away on August 16, 2021, of the Corona Virus.

The funeral service will be held by Baldwin Funeral Home of New Smyrna Beach pending the recovery of his Mother Lola Lawrence who is still hospitalized with Covid.  He will be buried at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. Date and Time to be announced.

Gerry was born in Jacksonville Florida on October 19, 1957.  He graduated from Bishop Moore High School in Orlando Florida then served in the US Army and was Honorably discharged in 1977.  He went on to Florida State University studying Business Administration and Marketing.  He understood the approaching technology impact of computers and the digital age to follow. He attended State College in Daytona Beach to upgrade his education in Computer Sciences.

Gerry worked as an IT specialist for Capgemini Energy Company creating new ideas and ways to implement his technological brilliance. He enjoyed fishing off the Florida beaches and driving his Dodge Challenger to Car Shows almost every weekend. He was a great cook and planned wonderful meals with all the details.  He was great fun to be around with his happy attitude and love for life.

Gerry is survived by his parents Fred and Lola Lawrence, his daughter Robyn Lawrence and two stepdaughters Brooke Lee Parker and Lauren Clair Pitcher. His brother Marcus Thompson and sister Nila Thompson.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Lumen Christi Family Motherless Babies Home (Orphanage), Mary Mount House, Asaba, Nigeria.
