In loving memory of
Gladys Irene Ford Hayes
November 5, 1937 – July 29, 2020

Mother’s priority was always her family, her children always came first in her life. Our mother was devoted to giving all she had to her children, grandchildren, and even a perfect stranger. She was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. Mother was an excellent cook. I can remember her getting up in the early morning hours to start cooking for the many holiday and other special family celebrations we all gathered. We are thankful and grateful for those wonderful warm and loving memories as a family. Thank you mother. You will be missed here on earth but we are happy for you to be with Jesus in Heaven with no more suffering or pain. We will privately celebrate and honor mothers life which was well lived and loved. Her favorite hobby was gardening. Mother always had the most beautiful flower gardens and loved caring for them. As a matter of fact, she lived in the same home where her children were raised for 35 plus years. Even with late stage Alzheimer’s she always wanted to go home to 901 Balfour. If it is possible to fulfill this wish for my mother by spreading her ashes from her earthly remains where she called home it will be done. Without a doubt her spirit is home in Heaven with Jesus and a remarkable memory. Gladys Irene Ford Hayes born in Cotton Plant, AR. attended school in Brinkley, AR (Don’t blink or you will miss both of them. ) She lived most of her earthly life in West Memphis, AR. Mother passed peacefully at 4:59 AM July 29, 2020 at Dolphin Pointe Health care of Alzheimer’s and COVID-19. Mother will always live in our hearts. She leaves behind her 4 children Ava Lynn Hayes Sutton, myself Joy Annette Hayes Johnson, Thomas Lindsey Hayes Jr., and James Thomas Hayes. She also leaves 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren (thanks to my sister Ava Lynn for keeping our family tree growing). John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (NIV) if you would like to honor my mother’s memory please pass on a kind and loving deed to someone in need or a smile and “I love you” to someone in your life…..
