Obituary

A Blessed Mother of 6.
“I Will Sing Unto The Lord A New Song”. Mom so enjoyed singing with the church choir, Harmony Sound Waves, Thurlow Spurr Concert Travels, and her Barbershop Quartet. She was involved with Beta Sigma Phi, a sorority her whole adult life and enjoyed every minute of it. Her life was full of family, friends, dancing, singing, traveling and sharing that wonderful smile with everyone. And, not to mention all the letter writing that she did. When there was a problem and no-one would listen to her – she sent a letter to the head of the company – and got results!

Our mother was the pillar of our family. She loved life, her children, the Lord, singing, baking, driving, dancing, playing cards and entertaining. She was always baking carrot cake, chocolate chip cookies and everyone enjoyed her fudge at Christmas time. Throughout our life, mom always celebrated our birthdays with homemade angel food cake with strawberries and fresh whipped cream, that of course was homemade. She so loved singing – I can still see her singing and always smiling. She was always baking something for someone else or sending a card or just stopping in to say “hi”.

She worked her whole life and always made friends wherever she went. She was involved in Beta Sigma Phi – a sorority she would be involved in until her passing.

She loved to travel and had many road trips to visit friends, family, co-workers and conventions with her singing groups.

She loved family get-togethers. The more the merrier. The Markle Christmas was a highlight for her. When Covid came, her world changed. No more choir, no more Harmony Sound Waves and she was shut in, like many of us. She always had a smile on her face and was determined to make it a good day no matter what.
