Gloria came and lived with our family when I was 12. She was like a big sister without the bossiness, but all of the fun. I spent hours at her apartment when I was in high school, grading papers, watching the Moon landing, and learning to drive stick shift. Later she would join me and my own family in the mountains hiking. I can’t go up Black Balsam Knob or in the Shining Rick Wilderness without remembering all of our great hikes together there. Hiking with Glo was an outdoor classroom in botany and biology. Her enthusiasm made it all fun.

Misty, you went above and beyond with your excellent care of Glo. I know it was never easy, but you did it, and did it well. She was able to stay in her home almost to the end. Thank you for taking care of my friend…from The Kid (Kem and John)

I knew Gloria for over 20 years.. she was quite a character and good friend. We traveled together and had a lot of laughs over the years.

Gloria was an honest, life loving person who I will truly miss.

I met Gloria late in her journey, but even then, she was quite the character and let you know what she thought about any situation. Misty, I am so touched by the love, care, and devotion you gave to Gloria. You have been right by her side whenever she needed you. God bless you, Misty.

Misty loved talking about Gloria and her antics with us, her friends. I am so glad that I got to spend a little time with Gloria and see for myself what a firecracker she was. The world needs more people like her. Rest in peace Gloria.
