Gloria Jean Snyder
Gloria Jean Snyder, known affectionately as “Glitz-a-Glor,” brought sparkle and sunshine to everyone she met. Gloria was born in Harlan, Iowa to her parents Paul & Lavonne on November 26, 1947. Gloria went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2020 while surrounded by her devoted family. Gloria is survived by her beloved husband, Charles Snyder and loving children Nichole Snyder and Scott Snyder.
Growing up and living in the Midwest was wonderful but Gloria longed to escape the wintery snow and ice and move to sunny Florida. Her dream came true when she and Charlie moved to The Villages Florida in December 2012. Upon arriving, they were warmly welcomed into fellowship at Live Oaks Community Church. Charlie and Gloria participated in an Encore Bible study group together. Everyone at church enjoyed seeing Gloria wearing her beautiful hats.
Gloria was always an active young gal and this continued through her entire life. She was very talented at designing and decorating beautiful creations. Gloria was a Home Interiors & Gifts consultant for 30 years. She was active in Red Hat Society and cherished her role as Queen of her group. Her greatest occupational love was “Glitz-a-Glor”, which she founded in 2000. Gloria created hats and fascinators adorned with feathers and rhinestones. She traveled the country selling her creations along with jewelry and clothing. She met many lifelong friends through Red Hat Society. Gloria was also active in Black Hat Gypsy’s, TuBaLu’s brunch gals and her card group. She enjoyed shopping, visiting tea rooms and driving her Volkswagen convertible while singing with the top down. Gloria’s fun, vivacious and up-beat personality brought smiles to everyone. She was a strong spirit and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Gloria’s motto was “Believe, pray and the answers will come!”
Gloria’s family is hosting a Celebration for her on Sunday November 29th, 2020 at 2 o’clock at Live Oaks Community Church located at 12070 Co Rd 103, Oxford, FL 34484.
